Banana Bread Recipe 1 Cup Flour

  • January 17, 2022

I did add a couple of my favorite ingredients and it turned out oh so good. Before baking I sprinkled more chopped walnuts and brown sugar on top.The bread itself turned out to be a smaller loaf than what I've made in the past, and it was easy to make because of the few ingredients it called for.The bananas I had were quite small so I used 4, I only had self raising flour so omitted the baking powder and salt, and added 5ml of vanilla extract.I am so happy to have found this recipe....no more throwing over ripe bananas away.I followed directions exactly but only had 1/2 cup of sugar on hand but it still had just the perfect amount of sweetness thanks to the bananas!I've learned that with banana bread, if you over mix it turns out flat.Rating: 5 stars I am 85 years young and I make this banana bread for my wife who can no longer cook.I do all of the meals, but she really loves Joy's banana bread and It is so easy to make.Rating: 5 stars My wife and I love this, and we made some slight modifications which we believe incredibly enhance the original, already excellent recipe. To the batter, add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, in addition to chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, dried cranberries, and pepitas/pumpkin seeds.Prior to pouring the batter into the loaf pan, spray cooking spray on the bottom, then rub a thin layer of butter directly from the stick.Add chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, dried cranberries, and brown sugar to cover the bottom of the pan, followed by another thin layer of cooking spray for adequate toasting.Place the pan in the oven to toast the bottom layer for 10 minutes (also at 325 degrees.). .

Banana Bread Mug Cake - Easy Microwave Recipe

Banana Bread Mug Cake - Easy Microwave Recipe

Either way, this single serve mug cake recipe is now my magic trick for when that one banana is begging to be used.Plus, being single serving, they are great portion control for those of us who lack the will power to keep an entire cake nearby without nibbling. For a few years, I have seen recipes floating about for ‘mug cakes’ – where you mix the ingredients in a cup and plop it in the microwave.I didn’t have a microwave at my parents’ house growing up, so I rarely think to use it now that one sits there taking up valuable counter space.A friend’s mom gave me a recipe for a chocolate mug cake a while ago and I meant to try it, but the paper got shuffled in with life and there went that.It wasn’t until I saw this recipe over at Vittles and Bits that I was reminded of wanting to give the whole baking in a microwave oven idea a try again. So, this small portion, quick fix banana bread is the perfect excuse to give the old microwave, and mug cakes, a try.Tho, filling a single, or even two spots in a cupcake tin would be the best bet, 20-22 minutes for doneness. This particular banana bread mug cake has been pinned thousands of times and I know I have made it more than a handful when I am in need of a quick snack! But it’s a great quick fix, the “I have an overly ripe banana on the counter that I could toss in the freezer or use right now,” kind of bread. You can also follow along for more good eats and travel tips on [email protected] & @girlcarnivore, Twitter & Facebook. .
