“Pretty good, as it turns out,” recalls Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Guru and “Primal Ice Cream Therapist,” Peter Lind. That original experimental flavor eventually became the legendary ice cream concoction known as Chocolate Fudge Brownie. It took Greyston bakers 2 months to hand-cut the bites from each sheet of brownies, and fill up the two freezer truckloads that Ben had ordered.“One huge 25-pound brownie fell into the Chunk Feeder— we had to hire 5 new employees and equip them with stainless steel hatchets to break up the pieces.”.What started as an exciting, and ultimately delicious, riddle to solve has become the stuff of legends for both Ben & Jerry’s and Greyston. .

After a very productive weekend spent watching The Muppet Show and eating cookies, I was inspired to pull out one of my favorite celebrity cookbooks of all time: 1996’s In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy.Miss Piggy doesn’t cook, because she’s far too glamorous for such a thing, so she has called upon her celebrity friends to contribute to the collection. But just like Miss Piggy herself, most of the celebrities featured in this book are people who I honestly cannot picture hovering over a hot stove.Or showing up to a sour cream peach pie eating contest hosted by the ghost of General Norman Schwarzkopf?I’ve spent my entire adult life cooking professionally, but if I had Miss Piggy’s money, you bet your ass I’d be paying the Swedish Chef to keep me fed so I could devote even more time to watching TV while eating cookies. In a true testament to her charm and charisma, Miss Piggy was able to convince the delicious duo to fork over their iconic recipe for Superfudge Brownies.Note: To amp up the flavor I’ve added espresso powder and milk chocolate chunks to Ben and Jerry’s original recipe. With a whisk, beat the eggs and salt in a mixing bowl until fluffy, then add the sugar and vanilla.Switching to a silicone spatula, gently fold in the chocolate mixture, baking powder, and flour, being sure not to overbeat so that the brownies will stay light and fluffy. .

The recipe for the Brownies that are inside Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream!Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownies. If you’re here, we should probably be BFFs… because you too have been sitting on the sofa idly picking out and eating the Chocolate Fudge Brownie pieces out of Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream, and wondering if you could make the actual brownies inside the ice cream. The answer is YES my friend! And they taste so so good – exactly like the ones in the ice cream! These brownies are made entirely with cocoa powder (and with chocolate chips added in) but still taste SO chocolatey and fudgy.I think the ultimate way to serve these Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownies would be on top of the ice cream! You’ll need butter, caster sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, plain flour, vanilla, salt and chocolate chips. To bake these Ben and Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownies you’ll need a 9×9 inch square tin. These brownies are made like you’re making a cake – the butter and sugar is beaten together (in a mixer or by hand) before the eggs are added, then the cocoa powder, flour, and the chocolate chips at the end.Even though the method is different to many brownies (where chocolate and butter is first melted together before stirring in the eggs, sugar and flour), I PROMISE that these brownies turn out super fudgy and delicious – just don’t overcook them.Prepare the dry ingredients in a large bowl - measure out the flour, add the cocoa powder and the salt. Finally, stir in half of the chocolate chips or chunks, and transfer the brownie batter into the baking tin.If you make these, tag me #kerrycooks @kerryedwards on Instagram , or post a picture on my Facebook or Twitter so I can see! .
