Peanut Butter Blossoms are quite possibly my favorite Christmas cookie of all time.I don’t think anyone is ever shocked to see them as part of a cookie tray, in fact, I think they’re expected to be there.The little decorated chocolate kisses are going to bring on all the oohs and ahhs and your cookies are sure to be the talk of the party.Then, call the kids and/or grandkids into the kitchen to help unwrap the chocolate kisses – and set those to the side as well.The first thing you’ll want to do is whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder) in a bowl.Mix in the egg and vanilla to the peanut butter mixture and blend until everything is incorporated.Bake the peanut butter cookies for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom.Pipe the melted bark around each chocolate kiss to make strands of lights.Then, using a small amount of the melted bark, stick a candy star on the top of each chocolate kiss.Follow the instructions on the bag for making the cookies and then continue with the directions shared here when pulling them out of the oven.peanut butter 1 cup light brown sugar packed.light brown sugar packed ½ teaspoon vanilla extract.Small candy stars Instructions Preheat oven to 350º Fahrenheit.In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.Slowly add the flour mixture and blend on low until incorporated.Roll balls in granulated sugar and place on the prepared cookie sheet at least 1-inch apart.Allow the cookies to sit on the pan for 5 minutes then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.Pipe the melted bark around each chocolate kiss to make the strands of lights.Using a very small amount of melted bark, stick a star on the top of each chocolate kiss.Wait until the chocolate kisses and white bark have hardened before storing in an airtight container. .

I also like to pull my cookies at about 10 minutes of cooking at 350 F, when they are just starting to turn golden brown around the edges.A combination of both of these techniques make these super soft cookies even after they’ve cooled.Room temperature butter means that you should easily be able to press on it but it shouldn’t melted.The cookies will start to turn golden brown around the edges but still be soft on top at about 10 minutes in a 350 F oven.I gently sift powdered sugar over the cookie and add two chocolate chips for the eyes, five for the mouth and finish with an orange Reese’s pieces on it’s side for the nose.Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Remove from the baking sheet and place on a wire rack to cool completely.I’ve experimented with small, regular and larger morsel chocolate chips.The morsel large chocolate chips are a bit too big but work in a pinch.Store cooked and decorated peanut butter cookies in an airtight container on the counter for up to five days.Once you’ve portioned them all out, cover with plastic wrap and place in the freezer until frozen solid.Bake from frozen by adding 1-2 minutes of cook time or letting cookie dough thaw in the fridge.
